CAUTION: Be aware of fraudulent individuals and companies that claim to offer registration for 17th Göttingen Meeting through fraudulent websites and/or by contacting you directly via email. These fraudulent agencies will look similar to the official organiser but are not. The only official agency handling registration and accommodation for 17th Göttingen Meeting is Neurowissenschaftliche Gesellschaft e.V. located in Berlin, Germany.
The following information will be requested during the registration procedure:
1. Personal data
Your personal data are required including the type of your presentation. If you will participate as presenting scientist (poster or oral), the abstract of your presentation must be submitted during the registration procedure.
It is not possible to first register and to later submit an abstract.
Please be aware that all plenary lectures and symposium speaker's talks are invited lectures. The "Breaking News Session" offers slots for young investigator talks.
Eligible are young scientists who did not yet complete their Ph.D./M.D (i.e. students) at the time of the conference.
2. Information about your payment method
If you wish to pay by credit card, please have your credit card information available. A credit card fee of 7 € will be charged.
In case you want to pay by transfer, please use the following account:

It is mandatory that you indicate your full name (first name and family name) and your Registration ID on the transfer form. Otherwise, we cannot process your payment. Please transfer your fee immediately. Registration is only valid after receipt of the full registration fee. The registration fee is non-refundable.
Important notice: The difference between the registration fee for non-members and members both for students and senior scientists is 10€ more than the annual membership
fee for the German Neuroscience Society (i.e. EUR 100 for seniors, EUR 80 for postdocs and EUR 40 for students).
We recommend, therefore, to become a member instead, and take advantage of the German Neuroscience Society.
If you become a member now,
your membership will be effective as soon as we have received your application form. However, your payment for membership fee will be taken into account for the entire year 2027
and your membership for 2028 will be free of charge. Only from 2029 the regular membership fee will be due again. (see "PAY ONE - GET TWO").
Members of a FENS Member Society (see "National Societies" on the FENS website) are entitled to register at the same fee as members of the German Neuroscience Society. Members of the German Neuroscience Society are automatically members of FENS.
To register for the 17th Goettingen Meeting of the German Neuroscience Society you do not need a membership number. Please send your membership application by postal mail or email to GNS and at the same time you can register for this meeting. We will verify your data after registration is closed.
3. Selection of symposia
You are requested to select the symposium you wish to attend for each session. For information on symposia, please visit the scientific program.
4. Abstract submission / Type of participation
Abstracts are required for poster and oral presentations. Oral presentations are plenary lectures, talks in symposia and young investigator presentations in the Breaking News Session.
The first two are invited presentations. For the latter, however, students (i.e. young scientists who did not complete their Ph.D./M.D.) can apply.
As a student you have the choice to indicate on the registration form whether you want to participate with a poster presentation or whether you prefer giving an oral presentation if selected.
The chair of the Breaking News Session and the jNWG will select the young investigator presentations from these submissions and assign them to the Breaking News Session.
In case you are selected to this, you are also automatically shortlisted for the Breaking News’ Best Paper Award.
The duration of an oral presentation is 10 minutes (incl. discussion).
If not selected for an oral presentation you agree that your contributions will be automatically assigned to the poster sessions.
If selected for an oral presentation your contribution can be included in addition in the poster sessions on request.
You should have your abstract ready in its final version before starting the registration process. The following components are required:
- Title of the abstract
- Author(s)
- Authors’ affiliations
- Text body (max. 3.500 characters including spaces)
You are allowed to add one figure and one table to your abstract. The file must adhere to the following requirements:
- Only JPEG or GIF images are acceptable.
- Please create JPEG image file only in RGB color mode (not CMYK).
- The table must be converted to a JPEG or GIF image file (see below).
- If you wish, you can combine tables and/or figures to one figure/image file.
- Maximum size: 200 KB.
- Maximum width: 550 pixel, maximum height: 450 pixel (all larger figures will be scaled down)
The registered participant is automatically the first, i.e. presenting author of the contribution. Your personal data create the affiliation of the presenting author. Each regular participant is entitled to submit one poster abstract as presenting author.
Abstract editing is possible free of charge until the deadline for abstract submission and early registration, i.e. October 14, 2026. After that date, abstract revision is possible for two weeks more (October 28, 2026). You can login free of charge. Please be aware, each time you push the ‘Finish’ button at the end, 15€ are charged and will be invoiced to you.
Poster submisson for plenary speakers, organizers and symposium speakers
Speakers in symposia and plenary speakers are entitled to present one poster in addition to their oral presentation. Organizers are also entitled to present one poster. The abstract for this poster will be requested at the end of the registration procedure. Later submission of the poster abstract is not possible; it must be entered during the initial registration procedure.
